The Vosges Massif, a thousand things to discover

A four-season destination to explore!

Located in the east of France, the Vosges Massif is a nature-lover's dream: boreal peat bogs, glacial cirques, exceptional wildlife, healing forests...

The warm, friendly locals are passionate about sharing their love of the mountains with those in search of authenticity.

For thrill-seekers, the Vosges Massif offers a multitude of activities: downhill skiing, Nordic skiing, hang-gliding, climbing, horse-riding, adventure courses, diving in its many lakes, golf... A hiker's paradise with its multitude of signposted footpaths, the mountains are also a privileged area for cycling enthusiasts: With cycle paths, greenways, restricted roads and forest tracks, there's plenty for cyclists and mountain bikers, with or without electric assistance, to enjoy.

Let yourself be surprised by the iridescent colours, the gastronomy, the warmth of the farmhouse inns on the crests and in the valleys, the wellness facilities, the cultural wealth and the unique events.

An exceptional heritage

A paradise for lovers of art, history, architecture, traditions, customs and legends, the Vosges Massif is a land of contrasts and diverse influences. This multi-faceted heritage is revealed to all as you explore.

Wherever you are, you can immerse yourself in the history of the Massif des Vosges; castles, religious sites and places of remembrance offer a rich journey back in time.

A land of culture as much as nature, the Massif des Vosges also boasts over a hundred museums and numerous places to visit, including crystal glassworks, mines and high-iron sawmills.

Meet the men and women who tell the stories of these traditional trades that have endured through the ages. Marvel at productions worthy of true works of art.

Gastronomy in the Massif des Vosges

After the effort, the comfort! A few hours on foot or by bike will have whetted our appetites. To the rhythm of the bells and under the watchful eye of the cows, it's time to head off to one of the farm inns in the region.

A warm welcome awaits you, and the locals invite you to sample the famous "repas marcaire". Pork pie as a starter, a dish based on pork and potatoes, a little Munster cheese and a brimbelle tart (wild bilberries)... the generosity is also evident on the plate!

And other specialities like trout pâté or "chaude meurotte" (a Vosges salad) are sure to tantalise your taste buds too.

One thing's for sure, there's plenty to keep you motivated during your outings in the fresh air of the Massif des Vosges.
