Good mix of lanes. Done on a dry summers day after the heatwave. Including Violets Lane for the first time and a few other favourites. A beautiful ride around the byways and small country lanes of rural East Herts. This is a modified/improved route to my other 'Wareside loop' route. It cuts down the road section in the middle by quite a bit.Time - about 2-3 hours, mostly easy going.

Starting at John Bunyan pub and then north via lanes up to Whitwell and back again - nice loop. Some good lanes and good afternoons drive.

Easy route when dry around Herts. Can be muddy really when wet. Doable with big bikes with knobblies even when really wet. A couple of good up hills involved.

Some really excellent Green lanes with nothing too difficult. The Essex part of the route is superb - lots of long picturesque Green Lanes. Short Cottered Green Lane not always open.Miss out the bottom loop if you want to shorten it - a Buntingford start/end would be ideal.

This one earnt me a few dents and scratches thanks do a hidden branch in a very overgrown lane, fun to drive though, just be on the lookout...Checked against the current ROW Map 4th Sept 2016http://webmaps.hertsdirect.org/row/row.htm
