Piper STC’d Ribs
R-3 series airfoil is a USA-35B modified as per original Piper design.
NOTE: We have an STC for this rib for use in restorations!
T-Cap section is extruded 6061-T6. Intercostals are 2024-T3
Rib is riveted to cap of metal I-beam spar.
Rib is screwed to web of a wooden spar.
Rivets attaching intercostals to rib base can be pre-drilled but un-attached for easy replacement purposes at no extra charge. (Request with order.)
Rivets are 5056 series, closed end aluminum with steel mandrel and domed head.
A single rib will be sent upon request for the price of the rib plus $25.00 shipping and handling.

Experimental Aircraft Aluminum Ribs
- All series can be made from “L” or “T” extruded section
- “T” Section:Fabric can be rib stitched only.
- “L” Section: Fabric can be riveted.
- USA 35B modified and STC’d for Piper J3 – PA18 replacement ribs
- USA 35B available experimental.
- Ribs are made for flange attach on aluminum spars and web attach on wood spars.
- The dimensions given are standard. Any custom dimension is $25.00 per dimension change.
- All ribs are made from 6061-T6 heat treated extruded aluminum cap strip and 2024-T3 intercostals.
- Metal or wood spar must be specified on order.
- Custom Ribs – quoted upon inspection of airfoil.
